“Sarah writes with the prophetic fire of Kahlil Gibran and from a stillness reminiscent of Wendell Berry’s Sabbath poems. The effect is nothing less than the re-sacralization of Life—every step, corner, switchback, and rest.”
John Erik Pattison
Coauthor of "Slow Church"

“In my life as a writer, this is what I have learned: you write what is on your heart to write about, whatever you need to write about, any lines you are given, and you make sure it is high quality writing, even if raw. After that, what has been written takes on a life of its own and my words go to places I can never foresee.

For myself, I find questions to be the most intriguing of all and the more I speak and write, the more I know I am here to help people ask questions of their own. These are the people who are asking questions and who are no longer satisfied with the answers they’ve known. You may have been kicked out of a community for who you are or for the questions you ask. You may still be searching for things that cannot be named. Though I love words, I know our journies can never be captured within them and so I walk along those edges letting people know they aren’t alone, that there are others asking questions, that everyone belongs, you are perfect as you are, and that you don’t even need the set answers.”

You Deserve Self-Care (Halo Agrees)

We all deserve, without question, love and self-care. We all deserve to prioritize ourselves first, to make sure we have what we need. Whether that is food we love, exploring skin care options, or making sure you take time for what you’re passionate about, you are the only person who can make sure that happens.

Taking a New Direction

I hope we are all able to fill our own cups—whatever that is for you—not just this January but as a regular rhythm to your life. None of us want to get to the end of our days having never opened the gift we were given on the day we were born: ourselves.

Starting My Technology Challenge

Like many people in my culture, I have grown used to being on edge and spend a lot of time playing around on the internet and my phone with little real productivity. I continually check my phone, find myself wasting time on it whenever I am waiting for something or someone, and spend more time on the internet than I realize I’m wasting. It is not what I want to do my life or what I want to become.

The Question Underneath

The truth is that my life was turned upside down for the last few years and especially in the last year and a half. Things changed one after another and I was so busy in that span of time that my soul dried up and I became a desert.  In that span of time, I’ve experienced:
